Trochanteric Bursitis

Trochanteric Bursitis (also known as greater trochanteric pain syndrome) is a very common condition that causes pain and tenderness at the outer aspect of the hip. This happens when a naturally occurring cushion of tissue (the bursa) adjacent to the hip joint becomes inflamed. It can sometimes occur together with tendonitis of the gluteal (buttock) muscles. Trochanteric bursitis can occur in your native hip, but can also occur after total hip replacement. Mr Tai will advise you on the best way to treat this condition.
